Compost Sale, 2/11

Aloha Compost Connoisseur –

Our usual January 28th Compost Sale was hit hard by heavy rains keeping many of our favorite gardeners and growers at home, so we have re-scheduled.  Let’s hope for sun and try this again… See you there!

Saturday, February 11, 9am-2pm
KAINALU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Enter through back gate along Kainalu Drive

Presented by the Windward Zero Waste School Hui.  All proceeds benefit the participating schools.

Over 62 tons of cafeteria food waste was recovered and processed on the campuses of the five schools of the Windward Zero Waste School Hui using safe, natural, thermal composting and vermicomposting technology.  Our schools use much of this bounty for campus gardens, microfarms, landscaping, lawn, and science projects.

The surplus is for sale to the public, indisputably the highest quality premium compost available!

Please bring your own containers – buckets, boxes, bags, etc.

Compost: $15/cubic foot, which is a compressed 5-gallon bucketful.

Vermicast:
• Worm castings are sold in five-pound containers for $20.
• Special Blend Compost Tea Kit. Everything you need is included to brew five 5-gallon batches of compost tea to treat all your plants to a rich microbe and nutrient-packed soil drench for $20.

No limit.  First-come, first served.

All proceeds benefit our Windward Zero Waste Schools.

We hope to see you soon – Mahalo!
